Getting Through the Holidays
Our resources for getting through to Winter Break
Welcome to From the Teacher’s Desk, where we take turns further reflecting on our episodes and applications to the classroom.
The holidays are busy for all of us, and this December has hit the Lit Think team hard. We’re sharing some of our previous holiday materials and episodes to help you get through the holiday season as well.
And if you are new to us, we hope that you enjoy everything you see here and share it with your fellow educators and pop culture enthusiasts.
Classroom activities
Last year we designed a holiday movie escape room. In this post, we include the website link and a worksheet for students to fill out as they go through and answer the questions. My own kids were part of our test group.
December is also a common movie-watching month for all ages. If you are looking for ways to make it more meaningful for your students, check out this blog post as well.
Or if you want to keep your students active, check out Alicia’s post about playing games in the classroom.
Holiday Podcast Episodes
During our second season, we had to talk about one of our all-time favorites, A Muppet Christmas Carol.
There are multiple holidays in this 90s classic, but we really enjoyed this conversation with Casper ter Kuile.
Happy Holidays
